Parish of SS. Lorenzo and Agnese in Loveno, Menaggio (Como), 1641 -

Parish of the Diocese of Como. It was built in 1641 by Bishop Lazarus Carafino,with territory dismembered from the collegiate church of Santo Stefano di Menaggioand dedication to the martyrs Saints Lorenzo and Agnese. In 1651 is included in thevicarage and church of the parish of San Lorenzo Menaggio of Loveno. In the state of all the parish churches of the city and diocese of Como Muggiasca sent by the bishop to the government of Milan in 1773, the income of the parish were derivedfrom 296 pounds to fund municipal and emoluments stole for 73.10 pounds. In 1781,the second note of the specific exemptions prediali in favor of the parishes of the state of Milan, the number of souls, counted between Easter 1779 and that of 1780,was 245. In 1788 the parish was under the patronage of the community. The numberof parishioners was 235. Within the boundaries of the parish of St Laurence andAgnes there was the oratory of the patronage of Bolza. In 1893, the year of the pastoral visit of Bishop Andrea Ferrari in the parish of Menaggio, within theboundaries of the parish of St Laurence and St Agnes in the parish was establishedthe Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of the Belt. The number ofparishioners was 230. During the twentieth century the parish of St Laurence andAgnes of Loveno has always been included in the Vicariate Forane Menaggio to theDecree of 29 January 1968, after which it was assigned to the pastoral zone VII of Tremezzo and Menaggio vicarage, with the Decree of 10 April 1984 has beenincluded in the vicariate of B Tremezzina.
